Abstract

Expert systems can be successfully used for environmental management tasks, giving expert advice in decision-making. They also are useful for organizing and transmitting knowledge, as well as problem structuring and analysis. What expert systems are, how they work, their main advantages and disadvantages in environmental management are discussed in this article.
