Programa de controle da poluição do ar por veículos automotores

Abstract

The air pollution in Brazil has already reached high levels, as in the developped coun-tries. Differently from the other developped countries, the Proconve • Air Pollution Control Program for Automotive Vehicles has been established nationwide in this country, based on the most modero methodologies and gradually stringent emission limits. It has been adopted the USA experience in most of the program, as well as some European concepts, both adapted to the Brazilian case, specially regarding to the automotive hse of ethanol fuel. This' paper describes the air pollution characteriza-tion and the program philosopy and methodology.
