Ruído da indústria têxtil no município de Americana

Abstract

This paper pre!lents the resuhs of a noise sampling in the urban area of a median size city located 130 km North of São Paulo city. This city, named Americana, has its industrial activities concentrat-ed on textile production. The noise measurements were carried out through 50 sampling sites distributed over four urban zones. The main objective was to evaluate the environmental noise emitted by textile industries. Besides the envirorunental noise sampling, another study was made to investigate the externai noise levei at industrial installations and comparing some industries provided with thermal-acoustic control systems with others industries without such control systems. The conclusion of this study shows that the ur-bail planning is the most feasible way to avoid population exposure to noise levei from industrial installations.
