Monitoramento da qualidade dos rios em São Paulo e na França

Abstract

The activity of the water quality monitoring nêtworks started when the water pollution control received special attention from regional or nàtional governments at the end of the 60's. CETESB operates a water sampling network since 1975. ln France, the fü:st water quality inventory was done in 1971 and done again in 76 and 81. The maio objectives of the water quality monitoring are to follow its trend and to evaluate the results of the water pollution control. It is very difficult to evaluate these results through that kind of data and their variations. The evaluation of pollution loads may provide higher precision. This paper summarises results, explains methodology and shows the state of water quality. By comparing them clarifying ideas may arise.
