Abstract

Toxicity tests were carried out with potassium dichromate, from 1981 to 1985. This was the reference substance chosen in order to evaluate the sensitivity of Daphnia similis cultures. Using the EC50, 24 hours results a range for the acceptance of the data· was established, which comprises values between 0,04 mg/1 to 0,17 mg/1. Values out of this range indicate that the organisms from these cultores can not be used in toxicity tests.
